giblefog ANZTB Test 2011 Conference “Testing Beyond Today” - Feedforward 1 Apr 11 2011, 12:03 AM EDT by leehawkins

As an delegate, it was great to meet and converse with fellow testers from around the world, to hear from such modest people and to see how and what others are doing to test their products.

I was relieved to realise/recognise some of our(my) own practices that are not as absent as I had thought, and pleased to learn ways to supplement my practices to make them more robust, effective and even just measurable.

I was impressed with the ability of SoapUI to be automated.

I hope to use FitNesse or some other collaborative & integrated documentation+verification tool on a project soon.

I have a much greater appreciation for the need for good _public_ metrics - not only about the tests themselves but also development, documentation, bug fixing and other work activities.

I notice that the presentations are now available from the downloads area http://anztb.org/downloads.php with all the book titles and links that I was too busy listening about to write down ;)

I'm interested in participating in some sort of weekend testing type thing - not just for the testing experience itself but also collaborating with other testers and the chance to learn from and share with them.

How did you find the conference experience? What epiphanies did you have? What did you take away? What things did you plan to implement? hope to implement?

PS The food was wonderful too! :)
